The Band
Joe Moese - Lead Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica
After a failed career as a stay-at-home son, Joe went on to become an astronaut in the Omicron Persei 8 Quadrant, where he was later elected president. Having accomplished all of this, Joe realized that all his life was still missing was membership in a Pearl Jam tribute band, and thus, Corduroy was born!
Joe grew up with music in his life from age 6, when he started taking piano lessons. Fast forward a few years, and he had dabbled in guitar, saxophone, and voice. He wound up a voice major at Elmhurst College, where he first started listening to Pearl Jam and was drawn to Eddie Vedder’s powerful baritone vocals. Prior to Corduroy, he was the lead singer for the Pink Floyd tribute band Eclipse.
Greg Garesche - Bass
Greg had been playing music casually for a number of years before joining Corduroy. As a lifelong grunge fan, once he heard that Corduroy was looking for a bass player, he knew it was time for his onstage debut! Some of his musical inspirations are Nirvana, David Bowie, The Cure, and of course Pearl Jam!
Christopher Sipek - Drums, Backing Vocals
Christopher started his drum career in the 4th grade, when he began taking lessons and quickly wanted to give up! Thankfully his parents pushed him to keep going, and Christopher fell in love with drumming shortly after. His primary music influences are the great Neil Peart from Rush and Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater. Christopher has developed a new appreciation for Pearl Jam since joining Corduroy, and is excited to be making his professional music debut with a great group of guys.
Justin Walsh - Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Justin is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar. A recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in Commercial Music, Justin comes with jazz and rock guitar performance experience. Justin studied in both guitar and production studies and has played gigs at venues such as the Gathering of the Vibes music festival, Gramercy Theater in NYC, and Union Transfer in Philadelphia. While working in many collaborative groups, Justin has played live performances in Chicago venues such as Lincoln Hall, Subterranean, Empty Bottle and Reggie’s Rock Club. A special highlight for Justin was performing in a band on Ribfest's main stage.
Joe Slejza - Guitar
He plays like Doyle Bramhall and has enjoyed being influenced by bands such as STP, Tomahawk, Alice In Chains, Helmet, and Pearl Jam. In the past he played with bands such as FA Kings, Wadsworth, and he currently plays with Temple of Dome.
Teddy Vedder - Band Mascot
Teddy Vedder is the band's trusty mascot. He proudly attends every Corduroy show, and can always be found hanging out in a different part of the stage. Next time you attend a show, see if you can find him!
